“The focus will be on Christianity and the challenge of inclusion and diversity. It’s something that I would like to explore further in a sermon, since ‘Christ and culture’ has been so much a part of my teaching in the history of Christianity.”
Brief bio. I am of Dutch immigrant background. I am a layperson, i.e. not ordained. I held a joint appointment in history at Queen’s Theological College and the Queen’s department of history until my retirement in 2011. From 1985 to 1991, I was a member of Chalmers, and have since returned a few times to preach. Most recently my connection to Chalmers, Sydenham Street, and Faith United has been through the Interfaith Refugee Partnership of which I am the co-ordinator. Currently I am a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran church.
