DESCRIPTION:From the Chalmers Commission:\nThe Structures Working Circle (SWC) has now had two fruitful round-the-circle conversations. The object of the time limited conversations is to recommend a model of congregational administration/decision-making reflective of Chalmers present needs and capacity. \nThe model will feature the principles of Restorative Practice which all our Circles have been using.\nAt the last meeting\, the group reviewed the additional underlying principles we wish in our decision making and some of the governance requirements of the United Church of Canada Manual. We have\nbegun to flesh out a framework of how Chalmers’ Circles might adapt to UCC requirements. \nIt is truly important that an array of individuals know about and contribute to this wayfinding exercise. SUMMARY:Inreach Working Circle meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Structures Working Group is asking for our help.  After the most recent meeting on January 9 (see announcements for details)\, David King\, Mary Davis Little and Nick Steinberg have been building details on the proposed model of our new way of decision making in Chalmers.  This model has been developed following all the current ways we have been connecting and conducting the ongoing work of Chalmers.  \n\nWe have been asked to assist them in filling in details of all that we are currently and could be doing.  It is important to have input from everyone so that we can ensure that the model will work well\, cover everything that we can think of\, and easily move Chalmers forward in the directions we want.  Attached is a draft outline of the responsibilities of the Worship circle. Our feedback is needed by Friday January 27th in order to incorporate in to next Structures Working Group meeting planned for Monday\, January 30 at 7pm in MacCallum Hall.\n\nAs a result of this request\, there will be a Inreach Circle meeting on Thursday at 7:00 pm by Zoom. I hope you can join us\, but if not please reply to this email with any suggestions or thoughts you have on the duties of this circle. \nThe Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83823105027?pwd=WUxMZFM3ZWlEL1l1NnN1Z1dVQ0h3Zz09 \n\nMeeting ID: 838 2310 5027 \nPasscode: 746801

SUMMARY:Outreach Working Circle meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Structures Working SMALL Group (David\, Nick and me) has been beavering away on how best to outline to all Chalmers’ folk how we see the structure of our decision-making body\, and what and how the Circles will contribute to the next months at Chalmers.  We have some outlines of responsibilities of each of the Circles\, and now want each of the Circles to discuss their lists of potential responsibilities\, and give some feedback.  All the Circles are being asked to meet sometime between now and next Thursday\, January 27 to review what they have been doing.  More information will be sent out today from the church office. \nA full Structures Working Groups meeting is planned for Monday\, January 30 at 7pm in MacCallum Hall to review the recommendations and decide on next steps. \nI would like to plan an Outreach Circle meeting for this Sunday at 7.30 pm by Zoom (some people are still reticent about meeting in person\, and others prefer not to come out at night).  Could you please email me back when you receive this to let me know of your availability? \nLink:  Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83823105027?pwd=WUxMZFM3ZWlEL1l1NnN1Z1dVQ0h3Zz09 \nAs always\, it is important that as many of us as possible in the congregation continue to be involved in this process.  Everyone is welcome at any or all of the meetings so please forward this email or contact anyone in the congregation who is interested in how Chalmers may be involved in Outreach to the wider community. \n Thank you!  Mary
