Susan Gilger
We welcome Susan Gilger to worship with us in the advent season. As a candidate for ministry from this congregation and a co‐liturgist from 2002‐ 2005, Susan Gilger is a familiar face to many in the Chalmers congregation.
Susan is currently working for the Canadian Families and Corrections Network as the National Family Orientation Coordinator. Her work involves providing support, counselling and Restorative Justice programming to federally incarcerated men and their families.
From 1996‐2004 Susan was the Coordinator of Martha’s Table. Beginning in the Fall of 2004 she returned to school to study theology and in the Spring of 2008 graduated from Queens Theological College with a BTh degree that included a concentration in the field of Restorative Justice. Susan continued to pursue her interest in Alternative Conflict Resolution and Mediation by completing a certificate program with the Mediation Centre of Southeastern Ontario in the Spring of 2010.
Although an American by birth, Susan has lived in Kingston with her husband Brian since 1993. They are parents to a blended family of 6 grown children and grandparents to Dante, Marco and Charlie, who is scheduled to make his entrance into the world in April.
